Gregory Crewdson received a B.A. from the State University of New York at Purchase in 1985 and an M.F.A. in photography from Yale in 1988. He has exhibited widely in the United States and Europe, and is represented by Luhring Augustine Gallery in New York City. His work has been included in many public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He has published several books of his photographs including "hover" (Artspace Books), "Dream of Life" (University of Salamanca, Spain), "Twilight" and "Beneath the Roses" (Harry N. Abrams). Mr. Crewdson is currently serving as adjunct professor for Yale University School of Art’s photography program.

Photographer Gregory Crewdson gave an evening lecture at Norman Rockwell Museum on March 27, 2010, regarding contemporary pathways in the field of photography, and his own inspired work. Here the artist describes some of the similarities behind the themes and approaches used in his work, and that of Norman Rockwell. The talk was presented in conjunction with the Museum's current photography exhibition "Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera."
