This iconic photograph of a Vietnam War protester putting flowers in the gun barrels of National Guard troops was taken by Bernie Boston in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 22, 1967. Boston died on January 22. 2008 at the age of 74. The photo, "Flower Power," was a runner-up for the Pulitzer Prize.
