The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago is one of the largest contemporary art museums in the world. After opening in 1967, the museum has since established an extensive collection of over 2,700 works of various media from the post-World War II era. Encompassing such movements as surrealism, pop, minimalism, and conceptual art, MCA’s collection highlights include works from many notable artists, including Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Cindy Sherman, and Jeff Koons. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is located in Kansas City, Missouri and houses one of the finest encyclopedic collections of art in the United States. Housed within the museum are impressive collections of Asian art and both European and American painting, as well as a photography collection that spans the medium’s entire existence. Another amazing feature at Nelson-Atkins is the Kansas City Sculpture Park.
