Artist Allan Wexler speaks about his piece, Gardening Sukkah, for which he received the Henry J. Leir Prize. The sukkah—complete with retractable roof, gardening tools, Jewish ritual objects, and dining utensils—embodies a perpetual cycle of renewal, moving between uses without ever lying fallow.

Beautiful work and design. I appreciate the attempt to reconnect more of our rituals to there natural source. So many observant Jews live in cities and are completely disconnected to nature. I would love to know what you think of the art I am working on for Sukkot. They are larger then life murals that hopefully add depth and joy to the sukkah. WWW.Leatsilvera.com. Thanks :)
