It is a very interesting experience to listen to Richard Serra speak in such controlling language and then the other narrator continues ("...as you exit this end, please turn to the left," etc.) as we view the very controlled spaces that Serra has built within the confines of the city structure. I view this as a metaphor for societal, psychological, and group restrictions that we at first unknowingly accept and then react to in myriad ways. Here is one place where art fits the term evocative.

I saw this exhibition at MOMA and it was a truly transformative experience. When I read about Serra's work, I was skeptical that it could really change your perception and make you have a visceral reaction, however, once inside of these great works, I was moved beyond words. Great videos giving an online viewer a sense of this experience.
