Indianapolis Museum of Art's Star Studio featured works by Robert J. Lang, a former physicist and engineer turned artist, whose innovative approach to the traditional art of Origami has earned him a reputation as one of the world's most important Origami artists.

This man has a great patience, cuz when I tried to do something like that, I got mad all the time. He is great at doing his works. This is amazing when a man can do such things with just a piece of paper. BTW the music is awesome

SWEETNESS! that was the coolest thing!!!!

Cool I like the bird and nest.
Wheres Andy Warhol??

Ellen and Carol

teach me how!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was lucky enough to see Lang work on one of the cranes that he hung in the Star Studio. I was awestruck, learned a lot, and realized that exquisitely engineered paper creations can express a transcendent artistic intention. I also realized that I would never want to make a lobster out of folded paper; I'll leave that to the professionals. :)

Love the music.

00:00:32 your eyes are telling you it's a heron, or something else, your brain knows this is still a square of paper; you could unfold this and it's still a square.

00:00:42 That conflict of perception, between what it is and what it appears to be, continues to be, for me, the charm and appeal of origami, and

00:00:52 I hope it is to our audience, as well.
