Meet Kendall Howard, a staff member at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in this episode of a continuing series. Go behind the scenes at a major art museum to see what it takes to make it all work.
[...and you go through these two doors here...]
[Oh...okay...]
[...and you'll walk around...]
My name is Kendal Howard and I work for guest relations, community relations, also the front desk. My favorite part of the job here at the IMA is just to help people.
[Thank you very much.]
[You're welcome.]
Part of my job here at the IMA is to, basically, fill all of the brochures located along the front desk. Another thing that I do here at the museum is that I go into the galleries in the morning.
I go up onto the first level in the European to fill the brochures along the walls there. I always recommend the European Galleries to start because it's one of the best things to start
looking at when you're first coming into the museum of art. This is my favorite piece here in the European Gallery. To be able to go back to that time
and actually see a picture painted so beautifully and distinctively and detailed, it's just the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
I love it here. I think it's an awesome job. It's a beautiful place to work in, it's also the greatest people that I know that work here in my department and with the front desk,
we're an awesome team, do awesome job, and we all stick together.
"It's My Art" means to me that art is something that can be appreciated. I think, it's just welcoming. I think everybody can enjoy here at the IMA because it's art, who doesn't like art?
[Shall return. I am closed.]
