Project IMA is a unique runway fashion show featuring an eclectic mix of one-of-kind designs by local and national, artists and fashion designers. Selected participants will present exciting, avant-garde work inspired by clothing on view in the IMA exhibition, An American Legacy: Norell, Blass, Halston and Sprouse. Featuring outstanding examples from the IMA's permanent collection, the exhibition highlights the work of four renowned fashion designers, who hailed from Indiana: Norman Norell, Bill Blass, Halston and Stephen Sprouse.

Shamanism is a belief system wherein a person (shaman) acts as an intermediary between humans and spirits. Inspired by Phantoms of Asia, this MATCHA event looks at how the living interact with the spirit world. Our special guest is Dohee Lee, currently an artist in residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts. She will reveal excerpts from her work-in-progress, Mago, which layers installation, music, dance, animation, and ritual with Korean traditional art forms and shamanism.

Something is features a newly commissioned body of work by Indianapolis-based emerging artist Lauren Zoll that explores the intersections of painting and video. Numerous large-scale paintings, videos, and a collage affixed directly to the gallery wall will form an immersive and variable installation in the Carmen & Mark Holeman Gallery. Something is proposes an open-ended investigation—the title itself is the start of a phrase to be completed by exhibition visitors as they interpret the changing and foreign environment of the installation within the gallery.

This video focuses on Rineke Dijkstra's series of portraits of Almerisa, whom the artist met as a child in a refugee center for Bosnian asylum seekers in the Netherlands. Dijkstra and Almerisa each describe the experience of taking their first photograph together and discuss how the series has evolved over the course of Almerisa's life as she grows from a young Bosnian girl into a Dutch woman with her own child.
