The first American museum exhibition featuring the work of Indianapolis native Emily Kennerk, Suburban Nation, which appeared at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 2007, includes large-scale installations influenced by the American landscape, which use mass-produced materials including vinyl siding, decking, roof shingles, and awnings. Transforming materials and forms found in suburbia, Kennerk freshly examines the public's relationship to these American icons.
