An accomplished designer and teacher, Dan Dailey has worked with prestigious international art glass firms, and he has founded or has been instrumental in establishing important glass programs in the United States. An attraction to caricature and the material extravagances of Art Deco are reflected in Dailey’s use of stylized figures, energetic angled silhouettes, and elegantly paired materials, while his edgy humor finds an outlet in his portrait vessels of fanciful human and animal characters. This video was featured in the exhibition, Voices of Contemporary Glass: The Heineman Collection, on view at The Corning Museum of Glass, May 16, 2009–January 3, 2011.
