Museum Boijmans van Beuningen is producing its own television series. In Boijmans TV, the museum building provides a changing backdrop three main characters: a major work from the collection, a high profile artist exhibiting in Boijmans museum and a museum visitor who has the illusion of being in a different world. The series is being broadcast weekly from 14 April 2010 by the regional television station RTV Rijnmond. Boijmans TV has been developed with support from the VSB Fund, partner in education to Museum Boijmans van Beuningen. In this 6th episode of Boijmans TV, artist Joep van Lieshout is interrogated by security guard Arie about his ideas for saving the world. In his work, Van Lieshout puts forward the idea of recycling people. In the meantime, Ab, our technical man, helps the people from Atelier Van Lieshout to erect Infernopolis. This enormous exhibition will be open from 29 May in the former submarine shed on the RDM grounds at Heijplaat in Rotterdam. But you know how it is... Ab has a queasy stomach and in his confusion wants to be back in his familiar building at the Museum park as quickly as possible. After all, nothing is ever thrown away there and a group of elderly Chinese are enjoying a carefree game of football in the quad. After Bregje and her tape-recorder have let them in on some of the secrets of the famous dancing girl by Edgar Degas, the Chinese decide to attempt a dance as well.
