Isa Genzken (Germany, 1948) is one of the most innovative and influential artists of the last forty years. She covers many disciplines in her work, making movies, wooden and concrete sculptures, photographic works, paintings and complex story-telling collages and assemblages. From now until 16 March 2016, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam shows her work in the exhibition Mach Dich hübsch!, the first major retrospective exhibition about Isa Genzken in the Netherlands. In this video, curators Beatrix Ruf and Martijn van Nieuwenhuyzen talk about Isa Genzken and her work. Also, Wim van Krimpen, the gallery owner who introduced her work to the Netherlands and artists David Jablonowski and Katja Novitskova, discuss the fascination with her art.
