Big double exhibition at Gemeentemuseum & Hague Museum of Photography
21 March – 21 June 2015
To mark the sixtieth birthday of photographer Anton Corbijn (b. Strijen, 1955), the Gemeentemuseum and the Hague Museum of Photography are organising the most complete retrospective of his work to date. The museums will pay homage to this leading portrait photographer in a duo of exhibitions held in the two different locations.
In HOLLANDS DEEP, the Gemeentemuseum will show how Corbijn has evolved over the last forty years from an ordinary music fan into a successful photographer and multifaceted creative artist. The concurrent show, 1-2-3-4 at the next-door Museum of Photography, will feature photographs of bands and musicians with whom Corbijn had or still has lasting associations and in which the relationship between the photographer and the music world is at centre stage.
